Well worn recipes and stories told as cookies are made. The aroma of something sweet baking while conversations just as sweet blossom. These treasured memories with Mom, Grandma, Aunties, sisters and other beautiful women in your life are represented in this piece. It should conjure the scent of a warm kitchen, the feel of a crinkled, stained recipe card, and a sweet woman always there to nourish. This piece celebrates that woman who devoted herself to nourishing her loved ones, not only with food, but with love.

This is an original mixed media composition on canvas sheet adhered to a board. The palette is sepia, crimson, pale pink and yellow and black and white. The background paper is torn from vintage magazines - real recipes and advertisements are part of the history represented. The dress and apron are designed and hand cut/assembled by me. I painted her, then embellished and accented the whole piece. I used rub-ons and various stamps in black, as well as alcohol inks to add depth and texture.

It is framed in black and matted in white.

The entire canvas is finished and protected in multiple coats of Mod Podge and acrylic sealer. It is signed and dated in the lower right of the canvas. This listing is for one framed 12 1/2"x16" art work. Items displayed with art are not for sale.
