"Ad astra per aspera." The Kansas motto is “To the stars through difficulties” or “Ad astra per aspera” in Latin. To me, that means the opportunities to expand, discover and become are infinite if you are willing to overcome the difficulties. The sunflower is our state flower - always facing the light, embodying the reach upwards.
A paper collage is cradled inside the wood block which is painted and bears the quote.
The recessed cradled wood block is protected by acrylic sealer. Direct sunlight can fade vibrant colors, so display responsibly. This piece is fitted with a hanger and is ready to be displayed. It is signed and dated on the back.
